CRIMASA marked a major milestone in 1980 with the launch of its state-of-the-art shrimp processing facility, equipped with advanced laboratories, freezing tunnels, cold storage chambers, ice plants, and sorting systems. By 1981, the company had expanded from farming to full-scale processing and exporting, while also sourcing from other trusted producers. That same year, its flagship brand ‘GALAPAGOS’ achieved an ‘A’ rating from the National Chamber of Commerce, paving the way for a strong presence in the global seafood market.
Over the years, CRIMASA has earned international recognition, including the ‘Quality Award’ from Spain in 1986 and 1993, as well as the prestigious ‘International Diamond Star for Quality’ from Mexico’s National Market Institute in 1993. Although operations were briefly halted in 1999 due to the white spot virus, the company successfully resumed exports in 2007 with a completely modernized processing plant. Today, CRIMASA operates with upgraded freezing systems, climate-controlled facilities, and full compliance with global standards, ensuring premium-quality shrimp consistently delivered to international markets.

In 1999, CRIMASA faced a major setback when the white spot virus forced a temporary halt in operations. However, by July 2007 the company made a strong comeback, relaunching its export activities with a completely upgraded infrastructure. The processing plant was modernized with cutting-edge freezing tunnels, a fully climate-controlled production environment, and strict adherence to international food safety regulations. These advancements positioned CRIMASA as a leader in sustainable shrimp processing, guaranteeing premium quality and consistency.
