In September 1980, CRIMASA inaugurated its processing plant, equipped with a fully equipped laboratory, freezing tunnels, cold storage chambers, ice production equipment with silos, sorting machines, etc. Since that year, in addition to cultivation, the company began processing and exporting its own production and began purchasing from other producers. In August 1981, our registered trademark, “GALAPAGOS,” obtained an “A” rating from the National Chamber of Commerce. Since then, “GALAPAGOS” has formally and successfully entered the international market. CRIMASA has been honored with the prestigious “Quality Award” from Editorial Office of Spain in 1986 and 1993.
In 1993, CRIMASA also earned the “International Diamond Star for Quality” award from the Mexican National Market Institute. In 1999, due to the “white spot” virus, CRIMASA suspended operations until July 2007, when we resumed export activities. Significant changes have been made to the processing plant, such as the implementation of new freezing tunnels, a fully climate-controlled processing area, and all international regulatory requirements, ensuring that we operate with a modern infrastructure perfectly suited to processing and packaging shrimp, allowing us to obtain an optimal quality product for offering to the international market.
